Our Mission

Rivendell Sanctuary is a refuge for factory farmed animals that have suffered from neglect and abuse and who without intervention would either be put down or slaughtered. Using sustainable technologies as a core value, out of respect, compassion, and conservation for all living things, the Sanctuary works to share the stories of the farm animals and how conscious choices can create meaningful change.

The Shire

The Shire, an old-oak forested natural riparian zone with year-round creek, is nothing short of magical. The area provides sustainability and protection to a rich wildlife habitat.

The sounds of the creek and ever-present birdsong encourage quiet reflection, inner-peace, and invigoration.

Follow us as we learn about being caretakers and embark on the conservation of the Shire.

One day, we hope to repair the old trail and see where it takes us!

Rivendell Proper

Overlooking the valley, Rivendell Proper is the future home to our animal family as well as permaculture farming.
