About the event
This full day, silent, meditation retreat will be an opportunity for experienced meditators to connect to nature, to our animal brethren, and to other Buddhist practitioners at the site of the Rivendell Farmed Animal Sanctuary. The retreat's theme will be our connection to animals, and there will be a Dharma discussion on a selection from the Metta Sutta. After registering for the event, the sutra text will be emailed to participants. There will be seated, walking, and work meditation periods, as well as rest and reflection time. Meditation, work, lunch and rest periods will be silent. There will be speaking for the Dharma discussion/tea, and Medicine Meal (light supper). Rivendell is a 501c3 charity, that is the forever home to farmed animals that were in need. The event is being held at no charge, but donations to the sanctuary are very much appreciated.
